The sailing trip uses a Beneteau Oceanis 50 — a 15-metre sailing yacht with a stern cockpit, shade canopy, and enough space for up to 10 passengers on a day excursion. It is moored at Marina Miramar in Santa Pola.
Beneteau Oceanis 50 · up to 10 passengers
Your group, a 15-metre sailing yacht, and the open Mediterranean. Depart from Santa Pola, stop at a marine reserve cove to swim, and arrive at Tabarca by sea.
The experience
The Beneteau Oceanis 50 leaves Marina Miramar with just your group on board. The skipper points the bow southwest. When the wind is right, the sails go up and the engine goes quiet — the only sound is the water and whatever is playing through the deck speakers.
Before Tabarca, the skipper reads the conditions. If the sea allows, the anchor drops at a cove in the marine reserve — a place the scheduled ferry never touches. The water is clear to the bottom. Masks and fins are already in the locker.
Then you arrive at Tabarca from the open sea rather than at the main dock with the crowd. That difference in perspective is a large part of what makes this trip worth choosing over the standard crossing.

The vessel
Beneteau Oceanis 50

The boat
The Beneteau Oceanis 50 is a 15-metre bluewater cruising yacht — stable, spacious, and genuinely suited to a day at sea. The stern cockpit has a shade canopy. There is a fresh water shower on deck. Four double cabins below if the group wants to explore inside. Everything on board is set up for a comfortable day on the Mediterranean, not just a quick crossing.
What is included
A private sailing trip to Tabarca should be effortless. Bring yourselves, your sunscreen, and whatever you want to drink. The rest is handled.

Not included: Food and drinks. Bring a picnic, or include a restaurant stop on Tabarca in your booking request.

Marine reserve
The waters around Tabarca Island form a protected marine nature reserve — one of the most biodiverse stretches of the Mediterranean coast. Underwater visibility is exceptional. Sea grass, sea bream, octopus, and moray eels are common close to the surface.
The sailing route passes coves and rocky inlets that the scheduled ferry cannot stop at. When conditions allow, the skipper drops anchor and the snorkel gear comes out. Your group, the open water, and nothing else.
Swimming stops depend on sea conditions and are agreed with the skipper on the day.
Why sail
Both will get you to Tabarca Island. The difference is everything between Santa Pola and the island dock.
